**Assistant Accountant – Defence Organisation - £22LTD/Umbrella – 12 months contract – Warton **

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibility of an Assistant Project Accountant is to work with their manager and team to ensure that long term contract costs of the projects are appropriately accounted for. In order to do this, the successful candidate will be able to:

- Ensure the accuracy of costs and time booking data;
- Understand and perform financial transactions such as journal posting, reconciliations and data interrogation
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines
- Work well in a team, liaising with both finance and non-finance colleagues to achieve outcomes
- Support continual improvement of procedures and working practices. Produce, promote and monitor of supporting process instructions.
- Reconcile data through thorough understanding of interfaces to and from financial systems.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of data provided to customers
sure the accuracy of costs and time booking data;
- Support to the invoicing process including the raising of invoices, management of debt and the preparation of relevant supporting documentation

The ideal candidate will have

Ideally Part-qualified CIMA or AAT or similar would be desirable
Ideally have experience of Assistant Accountant role or similar within Defence/ Engineering or similar
Excellent IT skills – e.g. Microsoft tool such as Excel, outlook etc
Experience using ERPs, BaaN, SAP and other subsystems is advantageous
Excellent communication skills
