Senior Solutiion Architect

Support the shaping of a change portfolio or programme to ensure that it is optimised to deliver to the target architecture. Lead and assure the delivery of the Solution Architecture on change portfolios or major change programmes, including defining how the solution should be defined through appropriate methods and tools. Lead internal work within the architecture practice to deliver an uplift in architecture capability

Responsibilities

• Ensure that E2E solution design is complete, deliverable and consistent with the approved architecture throughout the life of the Programme (potentially across multiple projects / work streams).
• Establish and (as appropriate) lead Programme Architecture & Design Authorities.
• Ensure effective communication / working with the ARB, Solution Design Board (SDB) and Infrastructure Design Authority (IDA), throughout the life of the Programme.
• Provide day to day management of Architecture & Design activity and resources, ensuring that Programmes are consistently able to deliver against their Architecture & Design accountabilities.
• Manage Architecture & Design risks and issues, dependencies and impacts of change, while providing an escalation path to the ARB for significant solution challenges.
• Supporting Heads of Transformation / Programme Directors on solutions where third parties are involved, by collaborating / negotiating to agree their Architecture & Design obligations and ensuring delivery of the required Architecture & Design outcomes.
• Lead, performance manage and develop teams of solution architects

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or appropriate length / depth of aligned work experience
• Strong leadership, influencing, and organisational skills
• Experience of building strong, long term stakeholder relationships. An articulate verbal and written communicator, able to translate complexity into robust business reasoning
• A sound understanding of the Financial Services Sector
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and work with complex models and data
• Strong knowledge of Business, Operational and IT Strategies & Architectures. Extensive experience of Architecture tools
• Previous leadership experience is desired
• Extensive knowledge and experience of developing information systems across a wide range of technologies and platforms, including experience of Architecture & Design on large transformation programmes
• Strong ability comprehend the functions, capabilities and benefits at pace and provide thought leadership of new business solutions and technologies
• Expert change leader and proven background in organisational, systems, business process, and multi-disciplinary, cross-functional change and/or experience of architecting and delivering large-scale technical solutions across multiple platforms
• A sound understanding of the project lifecycle
