I am actively recruiting to a Calibration Engineer vacancy with a prestigious Car Manufacturer based in Whitley, Coventry.
 
This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the worlds leading Automotive OEM’s on a long term rolling contract basis, with hourly rates available up to £28.00LTD for the right candidate.
 
Position Description:
Calibration Engineer – Actuators
An actuator calibration engineer is required to join an established team working on future engine and vehicle applications. The role involves simulation on HIL rig and engine/vehicle based calibration activities in order to deliver electro-mechanical and pneumatic actuator control systems in line with the requirements of the engine delivery programmes. This will involve calibration of device drivers, actuator cleaning and learning cycles, core PID tuning, support for actuator diagnostic calibrations, dealer service information and close co-operation with the air path and full load controls teams. Reporting to the subject matter expert the candidate will be expected to work closely with the engine hardware teams and engine management system supplier to ensure the successful calibration and validation of individual functions during development of new engines.

Experience Required:
Knowledge and experience of electro-mechanical and pneumatic actuation systems and their associated control strategies.
Experience in identifying and solving root cause of complex calibration related problems.
Experienced user of engineering tools such as Matlab, Simulink, DIADEM, INCA, AVL Concerto, Cameo and CRETA.
Experience of applying and improving methods, processes and engineering tools.
Understanding of reciprocating engine air path, cooling and lubrication systems.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate professionalism, diligence and a focus on technical delivery in a calibration team environment.
