Do you like solving problems in a fast-paced environment? We are currently looking for a Credit Assistant (Mortgage Lending) for a leading Canadian-based global financial institution in Mississauga Ontario. As a Bank Transaction Officer (Small Business Banking) you will work with their 2 major businesses – Business Banking and Commercial Banking.

Contract Information:

• Monday, August 6, 2018 to Monday, February 4, 2019
• Must be available to work Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Late shift will be twice a week 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• 7.50 hours per day or 37.50 hours per week

Salary and Perks:

• $17.12 per hour plus 4% vacation pay ($17.80 per hour including 4% vacation pay)

Responsibilities:

• Work in a team of underwriters and credit assistants providing credit adjudication services to the Mortgage Sales Force
• Review mortgage documentation for compliance to policy (e.g. real estate appraisals, proof of income, and down payment, etc.)
• Maintain strong working relationships Mortgage Sales Force representatives to allow for effective follow-up of documentation required to complete files

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in a related field
• Minimum 40 WPM typing skills
• Must have excellent communication skills in speaking, reading, and writing
• Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer)
• Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
• Ability to work independently and see tasks through to completion
• Ability to work under pressure
• Strong attention to details, highly organized, time management, and sense of urgency
• Work experience in the banking industry and data entry is considered an asset
• Must be able to pass a credit, criminal, education, international security, and employment verification background check as this is a position with a financial institution
