A contract opportunity has become available to work within the Automotive Industry, working as a Project Lead,

Position Description:
The Major Units (engine/transmission) engineer role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of Powertrain products, build upon and consolidate existing technical, financial and project management skills in a fast moving environment, dealing with new state of the art technologies. In addition it also offers significant exposure to Powertrain and the wider Senior Management team.

Required:
1) Experience of programme or project management, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and cost effective delivery essential
2) Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and self-motivation are the personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment, being able to deliver with minimum supervision
3) Knowledge of Product Development processes and principles are essential in order to support the review and approval of feasible product actions to ensure robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to production.

Experience Required:
• A good level of knowledge of Powertrain systems or Units (engines/transmissions) is essential
• Experience of Programme or Project management, self-motivated, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and cost effective delivery essential
• Knowledge of Product Development processes and principles are essential in order to support the reviews and approval of feasible product actions to ensure robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to production
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to LEAD the resolution of technical and process issues within a cross functional Project Team environment, including the ability to represent the Powertrain Department within the wider engineering function

Experience Preferred:
Good communication skills, interpersonal skills and self-confidence are the personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment, being able to deliver with minimum supervision. Applicants need to be Computer literate in Google, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project. Regular inter-site travel means a valid UK or European driving licence is preferred.
