The Background
I am recruiting for a Development Surveyor to join one of the UK’s leading International Infrastructure groups to join their existing team in a partnership to support City Council regeneration and growth projects. Reporting to the Principal Surveyor, the role will be to undertake the valuation, negotiation and acquisition and disposal of all types of land and property as required including those by Compulsory Purchase Order.

The Role
As a Development Surveyor you will…
• Undertake valuations, negotiations and the acquisition or disposal of all types of land and property on behalf of the City Council and other clients as required.
• Negotiate all statutory compensation payments under the Compensation Code.
• To liaise with officers of the City Council and legal representatives and providing advice and information in the making of Compulsory Purchase Orders to support development.
• Provide information and advice in preparation for, and the presentation of evidence at, Public Inquiries and Tribunals.
• Identify development opportunities within the local area to bring investment and employment into the city by encouraging development by the private sector.
• Carry out of feasibility studies and viability appraisals on development projects.
• Assist in the control, management and supervision of development projects.
• Liaise with appropriate officers of the City Council and private sector partners to ensure a co-ordinated approach is adopted towards development in Salford.
• Represent Property Services at meetings as required including project team meetings, Member briefings, client meetings and others as required.

You…
To be a successful Development Surveyor you will have:
• Experience in the valuation, negotiation, acquisition or disposal of all types of land and property
• A background in commercial property
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Enthusiasm and drive to deliver in a client focussed environment
• Valid driving licence and the availability of a car
• Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or on a pathway towards qualification would be beneficial
