A fantastic opportunity for an experienced oil and gas professional to develop their career as a Chief Technology Officer with a growing Oil & Gas company on a permanent basis in the Middle East. This is likely to suit someone who has progressed within a large integrated oilfields service company and wants to now take a step into leadership with an innovative and fast paced International company.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Build, lead, develop, manage and motivate a team of direct and indirect reports.
* In cooperation with the CEO develop Technology strategy and communicate this across the business.
* Establish clear, achievable and challenging objectives for direct reports. Monitor performance regularly to ensure highest chance of success.
* Build and maintain relationships of trust across the company, but especially with the CEO and the peer group.
* Influence internal stakeholders and play a pivotal role in the improvement of technical, operational and commercial capabilities within the company.
* Overall management of Technology budget including project cost, manufacturing costs.
* Generate and present the annual capital budget. Present to the CEO and gain agreement.
* Manage planning, budgets and performance and constantly act to improve the financial and long term performance of the business.
* Provide best in class technology support to Operations and Customers via a robust sustaining and maintenance structure.
* Develop a clear understanding of the business context and geographical and political environments in which the business operates. Ensure actions are taken to ensure best possible operating efficiencies.
* Develop a complete and detailed understanding of the risks likely to impact the business and plan ahead at all times to ensure the appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
* Maintain up to date best practice, industry and competitor knowledge and ensure ongoing competitive advantage.
* Always maintain safety as a first priority when developing and implementing strategies in the production, technical, operational areas.
* In conjunction with the HR support, oversee the development of training and development programmes to ensure the company can meet its current and future needs.
* Maintain the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all operations are carried out ethically and in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Bachelor degeree or higher in Engineering, or similar discipline.
* 15+ years of experience in Technology centre or product development.
* General management experience. Has led and managed multi-functional teams.
* Is both familiar and competent with Product Development and Manufacturing.
* Good understanding of Wireline logging ideally in Cased hole, including software understanding.
* Fluency in English & ability to speak Russian. Ability to speak any other languages is an advantage.
