POSITION SUMMARY

The National Sales Training Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all Empire sales professionals have thorough knowledge of products, can effectively use closing skills and can overcome objections. The National Sales Training Manager should be considered a resource for the entire sales team, as well as the sales managers and upper management. The National Sales Training Manager should organize and implement training for all skill levels from entry level sales skills to advanced techniques. Through education, observation, mentorship and motivation, the National Sales Training Manager will drive the success of individual, sales department, and company initiatives.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own the training & development strategy and the various programs that support the strategy, partner with HR, Sales Recruiting and the Sales Department to ensure our training & development strategies are aligned with corporate objectives
  • Research, assess, design and implement learning & development programs for our sales reps throughout the various stages of their careers
  • Assess and revise existing programs and/or develop new programs to ensure we offer a relevant and robust training experience at all times
  • Create testing, evaluation and certification processes to fully understand the results of training
  • Analyze and select the best facilitation (eLearning, Manager-lead, Centralized, etc.) and execution (internal, external, train-the-trainer, etc.) methods to ensure content is delivered with the highest impact while remaining cost effective
  • Prepare and implement training budgets
  • Proactively collect information across the organization and build reports to identify opportunities and support business decisions
  • Modify and improve current programs that incentivize training including but not limited to mentorship programs and new rep performance goals
  • Create detailed brochures and training materials
  • Develop a training program that is unique to Empire’s goals, values and mission statement
  • Understand what makes an Empire sales rep successful to grow company revenue
  • Identify key areas for improvement while utilizing available resources
  • Coordinate with IT on necessary technology improvements or devices to enhance the training experience
  • Write role plays to handle customer objectives which can vary based on region or product type
  • Improve technology used in-home and pre-appointment (tablet, smartphone, web portals, etc.) training for sales reps to enhance Customer Experience
  • Up to 20% travel to various markets
  • Additional duties as needed



Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience in the field required
  • Ability to work in an environment that encourages creativity and offers a wide degree of latitude in the execution of tasks
  • Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to understand effective consumer sales strategies and techniques
  • Successful track record of sales training experience
  • High level knowledge of in-home sales preferred
  • Strong leader with excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent grammar and typing skills required for development of material
